Westwood School Foundation Scholarship

BACKGROUND: This scholarship was established by the Westwood School Foundation, an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating high school seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education at an accredited college/university.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Westwood Community High School in Sloan, IA; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and be involved in extracurricular activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as scholastic performance while in high school, school and/or community service activities.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $1,000, not renewable.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the noon, February 1 deadline and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Essay
• Two (2) “Character Counts” recommendations
• Official high school transcript
