Wakefield Marvin Borg Memorial Scholarship

BACKGROUND: The Marvin Borg Memorial Scholarship is a fund of the Wakefield Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The applicant must be a Wakefield School District graduating high school senior and must plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited public or private university, college, vocational, technical, or other post-secondary institution. Applicants must be pursuing an agriculture major.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on essay evaluation and such factors as dedication to academics (minimum GPA of 2.0) and extracurricular school activities, involvement with church and community activities, and work history.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $1,000, not renewable.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Official high school transcript
• Two (2) “Character Counts” recommendations
• Essay
