Sergeant Bluff Kiwanis Silver and Blue Scholarship

BACKGROUND: The Kiwanis Silver & Blue Awards Program awards a $1,000 Scholarship and is administered by the Siouxland Community Foundation headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa. This scholarship fund was established by the Sergeant Bluff Kiwanis Club to promote community service.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating high school seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education at a college/university or vocational/technical institute to obtain a trade, associate, or academic degree.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School located in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Completed a minimum of 35 hours per year of community service, for a total of 140 hours for all four years, grades 9-12.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as volunteer activities, organizations impacted by your service work and scholastic performance while in high school.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $1,000, not renewable.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: The online application must be submitted by noon, April 1 and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Copies of all Community Service Verification Forms (Grades 9-12)
• Official high school transcript
