Lawton-Bronson Education Foundation Scholarship

BACKGROUND: This scholarship was established in 2019 by the newly formed Lawton-Bronson Education Foundation, an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation, headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating Lawton-Bronson High School seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Lawton-Bronson High School located in Lawton, Iowa, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0).

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipient is based on character, school and/or community service activities, scholastic performance, work history, and essay evaluation.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $1,000, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the noon, February 1 deadline and must include the following:

• Completed online application
• Essay
• Two (2) “Character Counts” recommendation
• Official high school transcript
