Larry Countryman Memorial Scholarship

BACKGROUND: The Larry Countryman Memorial Scholarship was established at the Siouxland Community Foundation in 2022 by Diane Countryman in memory of her husband.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist seniors graduating from Woodbury Central High School in Moville, IA in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Woodbury Central High School in Moville, Iowa; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. The student must be attending Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa State University in Ames, University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls or the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as participation in extracurricular & community activities, and/or work history.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:  $1,000, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:

• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
