BACKGROUND: This scholarship fund was established in 2016 by his family and friends in loving memory of Jonathan.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating South Sioux City High School seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education in the field of performing arts.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from South Sioux City High School in South Sioux City, Nebraska; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5; and must have participated in performing arts extracurricular school and/or community activities. “Performing arts” includes but is not limited to theatre, music, band, orchestra and dance. Applicants must be seriously considering future participation in or a career in the performing arts or a career in the teaching of the performing arts.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as performing arts experience, scholastic performance while in high school, school and/or community service activities, financial need, and essay evaluation.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: minimum $500, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:

• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
