John C. and Nancy J. Heuck Scholarship

BACKGROUND: The John C. and Nancy J. Heuck Scholarship was established by family in honor of John and Nancy Heuck and is administered by the Siouxland Community Foundation, headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education at an accredited college/university to obtain a 2 or 4-year academic degree. In honor of Mr. Heuck, applicants must be pursuing a career in agriculture business or related field.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (out of 4.0), be pursuing a career in agriculture business or related field, and be graduating seniors from a high school in one of the following counties: Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickenson, Emmet, O’Brien, Osceola or Palo Alto.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as scholastic performance while in high school, participation in school/agriculture activities, work history, and essay evaluation.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: minimum $1,000, not renewable.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
