BACKGROUND: The E.E. and Helen Maxwell Family Scholarship was established in 2019 by E.E. “Doc” and Helen. They established this endowed scholarship to give back to the community in which they have resided for many years.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist seniors graduating from Woodbury Central High School in Moville, IA in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Woodbury Central High School in Moville, Iowa; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. The student must be attending Iowa State University in Ames, University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls or the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as good character, participation in extracurricular & community activities, and/or work history.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: minimum $5,000, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:

• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
