Daniel J. Shoop Memorial Scholarship

BACKGROUND: The Daniel J. Shoop Memorial Scholarship was established through an estate gift in 2023.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist seniors graduating from South Sioux City High School in their pursuit of a post-secondary education at an accredited college/university.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from South Sioux City High School in South Sioux City, NE; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 but not higher than a 3.5 and be attending an accredited college/university.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as school and/or community service activities, work, financial need and essay evaluation.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $5,000, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
