BACKGROUND: The Carolyn Orr Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 through an estate gift. Carolyn felt compelled to leave a legacy by endowing a scholarship at the Siouxland Community Foundation.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist seniors graduating from Homer High School in Homer, NE in their pursuit of a post-secondary education in music.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Homer High School in Homer, Nebraska; have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. The student must be majoring in the field of music.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as participation in extracurricular & community activities, and/or work history.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: minimum $10,000, not renewable.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:
• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
