Austin M. Fleck Memorial Scholarship

BACKGROUND: This scholarship fund was established in 2021 by friends, McCarthy Building Companies and the Fleck family to honor Austin’s love of learning, engineering and construction management.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the scholarship program is to assist graduating East High School seniors in their pursuit of a post-secondary education at an accredited four-year college/university.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must be graduating seniors from East High School in Sioux City, Iowa, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or similar field.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recipients is based on such factors as school and/or community service activities.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: $1,000, not renewable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application must be received by the February 1 deadline and must include the following:

• Completed online application
• Essay
• Official high school transcript
